Break Your Fitness Barrier

We all get to a point in our training where we get used to the weight or exercise and we need another stimulus to keep improving.

I like following basic progressions to improve balance and strength, however some of the basic exercises like push-ups and pull-ups can be spiced up with a trick.

One of my favorite ways to break up monatonus exercises is to do 1.5 reps.

For squats, push-ups, lunges and pull-ups try lowering your body all the way down, come up half way, and then back down before you come all the way up on your repetition.

If you want to try it, here’s something to keep in mind:

Each rep should be controlled. DO NOT RUSH the movement.

It will burn more, and you might not be able to as may as usual.

That’s the point. It’s more challenging and you will get benefit from working in another dimension of your fitness.

You will feel the increased burn, and yourself getting stronger.
